We educate and engage with all ages through place-based, hands-on programs, increasing knowledge on rural issues, building leadership capacity, building workforce development, and encouraging community and land stewardship. Whether you visit or live in Wallowa County or connect with us through the Internet, you and your family can support, learn about, and participate in taking care of the land and water. Sustaining the land – including its soil, water, plants and animals – is essential for vibrant rural communities. Each year, our programs help more than half of our K-12 population connect to the outdoors and learn about this amazing place. Kids, parents, teachers and community members all recognize the impact our programs can have on learning, belonging and connection to place. Place-based, outdoor experiential learning works and is the first step in helping to educate the next generation of stewards and policymakers for our county.
