Blu Risseeuw
Forest Stewardship Workforce Manager
Blu was born in Bend, Oregon, but raised in Eastern Oregon since age 10. Growing up on Cricket Flat in Union County, exploring the breaks of the Wallowa and Grande Ronde upon moving to Wallowa County as a teenager and graduating from Enterprise High School in 2013. Sparked by the surrounding environment and his love for the outdoors, he enrolled in the Natural Resources program at Eastern Oregon University while fighting wildland fire in the summers for the Oregon Department of Forestry and U.S. Forest Service. After graduating with a BS in Natural Resources-Arid Land Ecology from Oregon State, he joined the Grande Ronde Rappel Crew, where he ended his eight-year career in wildland fire suppression.
Blu is excited to join Wallowa Resources and will work in our national forests and with other local partners doing forestry, natural resource related work and workforce development. He enjoys backcountry skiing, packrafting, mountain biking, and hunting in his free time.
