OWL (Outdoor Wallowa Learning)

Since
2004, Wallowa Resources has worked in partnership with the Wallowa County
Public Schools to bring an outdoor classroom experience annually to local
students. Through exploration, discovery,
and inquiry-based learning, 4th-6th grade students learn about Wallowa
County's plants, watersheds, wildlife, and geology, as well as survival
skills and field research methods with accomplished field instructors.
Curriculum is developed collaboratively with school teachers to ensure
educational standards and objectives are integrated. Sites for OWL have
ranged from Wallowa Lake State Park to the Wallowa River Habitat Restoration Site.
